Just like to this opportunity to thank CRCS for their outstanding service they provide to the elderly people of ACT without this organisation we would not be able to get to our appointments so let’s reach out & say a big thank you to CRCS.
Irresponsible management. Lack of communication causing inconvenience
Engaged in disingenuous conduct regarding support provided to Autistic children. When it was flagged on their Facebook page that there was a connection between their Early Autism Program and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA - a type of therapy that has similar origins to gay conversion therapy and that many adult Autistics believe is harmful) .. CRCS claimed their therapy was not ABA. A quick review of the wayback machine revealed sometime likely between early November and now, the web page was altered to remove the ABA reference. ***EDIT: Reply to CRCS response. The full picture is still not being provided. What is meant by "we use some of the learning principles of ABA to achieve high level educational outcomes"? How does the 'no-ABA' work when the current senior supervisory educator is a well known ABA practitioner with 20 years experience? Who 2 years ago advertised for staff to work at your centre with Autistic children, stating that individualised plans were based on the ABA curriculum? I encourage families considering this service to ask lots of questions about the finer details of the program. I also encourage CRCS to try to use language that is overwhelmingly supported by the majority of the adult Autistic community - for example 'Autistic' as opposed to 'people with Autism Spectrum Disorder.' Autism in itself isn't inherently disabling, environments are, language should reflect that.***
